In one of my earlier posts, I mentioned how Detroit-based Luqman Abdullah's son referred to his father's assassination as some of the "unfinished business of COINTELPRO." However, this seems to resonate a lot with that notion:
It's interesting how the FBI gained their information on Rakem Balogun from a video posted by the far-right InfoWars and used their perspective to strengthen the racist designation of "Black Identity Extremist" and their case against Balogun. As with a lot of the earlier pieces we read in class, this shows how social media and the internet can produce a violent situation for oppressed groups, as seen in this case and the earlier case I discussed regarding the violent plot against Islamberg.
