Predictive Policing: Los Angeles and the Control of Space @ The Public School Los Angeles

This Public School Los Angeles (http://www.tpsla.org/calendar/) is hosting Peter Polack, a PhD candidate from UCLA's ISchool, as he presents his research on LAPD's "current efforts at implementing the architecture of predictive policing". This will surely be an interesting follow-up to our last discussion about the roles that algorithms play in mediating our social, cultural and disciplinary institutions.

This session is part of their Learning Los Angeles study group and suggested readings are Jackie Wang - “This is a Story About Nerds and Cops” and Mike Davis - “Fortress LA”
